Job Overview:
We are looking for a passionate and flexible Breakfast/Demi Chef to join the kitchen team at our voco & Holiday Inn Express Auckland City Centre. In this role, you’ll work independently and collaboratively to deliver exceptional food experiences to our guests. You’ll contribute to all aspects of kitchen operations, from food preparation to maintaining hygiene standards, while working closely with senior chefs and the food and beverage team.
This role will be working on a 7-day, 24-hour roster, 30 hours per week minimum to a maximum of 55 hours per week. The hourly wage for this role is $28.50 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:

Follow the POS Ordering system to ensure accurate order processing and inventory control.

Minimize food wastage by using correct techniques for storage and food preparation.

Maintain all kitchen equipment and report any maintenance issues promptly.

Assist in the preparation of mise-en-place and dishes as per the required standards.

Ensure a clean and organized workspace throughout your shift.

Communicate and coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.

Respond to guest needs and handle special requests, ensuring a positive guest experience.

Adhere to all food safety regulations, including HACCP and RSA procedures.

Contribute to daily briefings, meetings, and any required training sessions
Skills & Experience:

Experience: 3 year of experience in a similar role required, as either, cook, commis chef or demi chef, within a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment preferred.
- Qualifications: NZ Certificate in Cookery or equivalent required.

Passion for food preparation and delivering high-quality dishes.

Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
