Located atop the bustling Eastland shopping center, Sage Hotel Ringwood offers 120 modern rooms across five floors. We also offer in-room dining and flexible function spaces for up to 200 guests.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Commis Chef to join our vibrant kitchen team. In this role, you will help deliver exceptional dining experiences, demonstrate leadership, and support our culinary team. You will be involved in various kitchen sections, contributing to the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes while maintaining our core values of Passion, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Brand and Service Standards: Adhere to Vista Hospitality Group’s standards, showcasing Authenticity, Trust, Resilience, Passion, and Innovation in all interactions.
  • Guest Engagement: Greet guests warmly, address their needs, and resolve any issues with a proactive approach.
  • Culinary Excellence: Assist in food preparation and basic cooking, rotating through different kitchen sections (sauces, vegetables, larder, fish, butchery) as required.
  • Operational Efficiency: Maintain high hygiene standards, accurately measure and prepare ingredients, manage stock rotation, and minimize wastage.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Executive Chef and Senior Chef de Partie to ensure consistent food production and service. Participate in daily briefings and departmental meetings.
  • Innovation and Flexibility: Demonstrate creativity in food presentation, adapt to "off the menu" guest requests, and contribute ideas for improving cost control and guest satisfaction.
  • Safety and Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhere to security procedures, and handle equipment with care.

Key Qualifications:

  • Relevant culinary qualifications or experience.
  • Strong communication skills and a dedication to providing exceptional guest service.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment and adapt to various culinary tasks.
