Position Overview:
As a Commis Chef, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences while showcasing your professional leadership skills. Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the brand’s Service Standards, demonstrating Authenticity, Trust, Resilience, Passion, and Innovation with every interaction.
- Acknowledge and greet every customer with a smile and by name where possible.
- Communicate clearly and listen actively to both internal and external guests.
- Take ownership of and resolve any customer complaints, acting as a Brand Ambassador at all times.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of hotel offerings, including room types, food and beverage outlets, and services.
- Follow policies on anti-discrimination, sexual harassment, and equal employment opportunity.
- Implement environmental practices and safety procedures consistently.
- Assist with food preparation and basic cooking under the guidance of the Chef de Partie, rotating through sections such as sauce, vegetables, larder, fish, and butchery.
- Ensure high standards of hygiene and food safety at all times.
- Handle deliveries, stock rotation, and minimize waste using correct storage and cooking techniques.
- Prepare mise-en-place and assist with consistent food production and service to meet menu standards of quality, quantity, and presentation.
- Care for all kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, following health and safety guidelines.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, providing feedback and sharing suggestions.
- Stay up to date with the kitchen’s evolving menu and techniques.
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting guest requests and offer appealing alternatives when needed.
