What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, the Head Bartender is responsible for leading the daily operations of the hotel bar while delivering exceptional beverage experiences and memorable guest service. This role combines hands-on cocktail and beverage expertise with team leadership, operational oversight, and a strong focus on hospitality excellence.

 

As a key leader within the restaurant and bar, the Head Bartender will create a vibrant, welcoming, and high-performing environment that reflects the hotel’s brand and guest experience standards. The role is responsible for maintaining beverage quality and consistency, supporting team development, driving guest engagement, and ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all bar services.

The Head Bartender will play an important role in shaping the venue’s beverage culture through strong product knowledge, cocktail creativity, wine and spirits expertise, and a passion for service. Working closely with restaurant leadership and the wider hotel team, this position contributes to both the operational success and reputation of the venue.

  • Lead daily bar operations to deliver exceptional beverage service and memorable guest experiences.
  • Prepare and serve premium cocktails, wine, spirits, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to brand and presentation standards.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of cocktail techniques, wine varietals, premium spirits, and current beverage trends.
  • Contribute to the creation and seasonal development of cocktail menus, beverage offerings, and signature serves.
  • Create a welcoming, energetic, and engaging atmosphere within the bar and restaurant.
  • Build strong relationships with guests through personalised and knowledgeable service.
  • Anticipate guest preferences and provide tailored beverage recommendations.
  • Lead, motivate, and mentor bartenders and food & beverage attendants.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of bar team members.
  • Foster a positive, high-performing, and collaborative team culture.

 This position offers a competitive pay rate of $32.70 per hour.

About You

  • Minimum 1 year experience as Head Bartender, Bar Supervisor, or similar role in a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Solid understanding of Food & Beverage operations and guest service standards
  • Confident handling guest complaints and operational challenges
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solutions-focused approach
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • LCQ Qualification preferred but not mandatory
