About the role

Reporting to the General Manager Operations – EVT Connect Hospitality, the Head of Sales plays a pivotal role in shaping and elevating the commercial direction of our portfolio – bringing to life sales strategies that amplify brand impact, strengthen partnerships, and unlock growth across every market you touch.

This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Working collaboratively with the Head of Revenue and Head of Marketing, you’ll ensure sales activity is connected to our broader commercial, brand and performance strategy. You’ll champion a culture of excellence and innovation across rooms, conferences & events, and food & beverage, inspiring teams to deliver best-in-class results for our hotels and partners.

At the heart of this role is connection – building trusted relationships with brand partners, hotel leaders, and national and global sales teams to drive market-leading performance and create opportunities where our people, partners, and portfolio can thrive.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the direction, development, and execution of sales strategy to generate new business opportunities and maximise revenues across all market segments.
  • Develop and embed a strong, performance-driven sales culture across on-property and above-property teams, in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key accounts, travel intermediaries and industry partners to secure new business and sustain a healthy pipeline.
  • Foster collaboration across Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Explore market trends and competitor movements to identify fresh opportunities and turn insight into growth.
  • Foster collaboration across Sales, Revenue, Marketing, and Operations, and ensure alignment with overall strategic objectives.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the hotel industry.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a track record of exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Exceptional negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills to effectively engage and partner with key stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, empower and develop high-performing sales teams to achieve exceptional results.
  • Degree qualification in relevant field preferred.
  • This role can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.
