POSITION OVERVIEW

As Night Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth running of all hotel operations during the overnight shift. You will ensure guest safety, security, and service excellence while maintaining strong financial control and audit accuracy.

In addition, you will act as the key Finance & Business Support representative overnight, ensuring all revenue and expense processes are accurately managed in line with IHG and company standards.

You will play a critical leadership role during the night shift, supporting team performance, handling guest situations, and ensuring a seamless handover to the day team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct full night audit processes, ensuring all revenue, expenses, and transactions are accurately reconciled
  • Balance credit card terminals with PMS and resolve any discrepancies in guest accounts
  • Maintain strict control of cash handling, floats, keys, and financial security procedures
  • Monitor and report hotel financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and operational results
  • Ensure accurate completion of night reports and distribution to relevant departments
  • Deliver exceptional overnight guest service, handling requests, complaints, and emergencies professionally
  • Conduct regular inspections of public areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and brand standards are met
  • Maintain accurate communication logs and ensure clear shift handovers to the day team
  • Lead, support, and guide the overnight team, ensuring readiness, performance, and service standards are met
  • Deliver shift briefings and provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members
  • Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, hotel procedures, WHS, and emergency protocols
  • Act as the key contact for overnight incidents, emergencies, and operational issues
  • Support training, onboarding, and ongoing development of night team members
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and a positive guest-focused culture across the shift
  • Ensure hotel security, safety procedures, and risk management practices are strictly followed
  • Support IHG Rewards recognition, guest satisfaction, and service recovery initiatives

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience as a Night Manager, Night Auditor, or supervisory hotel role
  • Strong knowledge of front office operations and night audit processes
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions
  • Experience with PMS systems (Opera preferred)
  • Strong financial and attention-to-detail skills
  • Availability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays
  • Full working rights in Australia
