Sage Wollongong is recruiting for an enthusiastic 1st Year Apprentice Chef. This role will see you supporting & learning from our passionate kitchen team. We are committed to developing and mentoring Apprentices so they can learn valuable skills and gain exposure to all aspects of Food & Beverage.

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic first-year Apprentice Chef to join our talented kitchen team. The role will report to the Sous Chef & the Executive Chef and is responsible for supporting the kitchen operations for our Restaurant, Bar and Events operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Controlling food preparation and waste management
  • Assisting the Kitchen Team as a hands-on-chef with excellent quality standards
  • Establishing effective employee working relationships 
  • Abiding by hotel regulations, policies and procedures

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this position you will possess the following attributes:

  • Kitchen Expereince in Conference & Events and/or Restaurant 
  • Passionate about creating a fun and innovative team environment.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to the different customer demands
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Be creative and bring fresh ideas to the team
  • Have pride in your appearance and ensure you look your best,
  • Professional attitude and the ability to take direction.
  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Flexibility to work rotating roster
