Job Overview

As an Assistant Bar Manager at Kimpton Margot Sydney, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our vibrant and dynamic bars program. You will work closely with the Director of Restaurant & Bars to deliver exceptional guest experiences, manage a team of dedicated colleagues, uphold responsible business practices, and maintain financial accountability. Your passion for mixology, leadership skills, and commitment to delivering outstanding guest service will contribute to the continued success and reputation of the Kimpton Margot Sydney.

Responsibilities:

  • Be approachable, authentic, and solutions driven.
  • Have a strong work ethic and a genuine attituded.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Champion IHG True Hospitality Service Skills and live our values.
  • Excellent end-user of IT applications/systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of food safety principles and practices.
  • Available to work on-call, shifts, after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays.
  • Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering and inventory.
  • Working knowledge of the Hospitality Industry (General) Award 2020.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a bar or restaurant setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, cocktail preparation, and beverage trends.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and senior management.
  • Proficient in managing financial aspects, including budgeting, cost control, and inventory management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Familiarity with responsible alcohol service regulations and health and safety standards.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and upholding the IHG strong reputation for excellence.
