Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate, hands-on Bar Supervisor to deliver an extraordinary guest experience at Next Hotel Melbourne. As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will be at the forefront of overseeing daily restaurant and bar operations, ensuring that every guest enjoys a flawless and memorable experience. Core Responsibilities

• Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in maintaining a professional, disciplined, and motivating environment within the department.
• Provide on-the-job training and supervision to new team members, ensuring they meet high standards of service.
• Oversee daily restaurant and bar operations to ensure exceptional service and flawless guest experiences.
• Monitor guest services and resolve complaints efficiently, ensuring VIP experiences and satisfaction.
• Ensure all staff members are certified in Responsible Service of Alcohol and adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with the preparation and review of sales reports, pricing structure, and financial records to ensure accurate reporting.
• Handle and monitor inventory, manage stock levels, and minimise losses due to breakages, pilferage, or spoilage.
• Ensure the restaurant, bar, and back-of-house areas are maintained, clean, and welcoming at all times.
• Regularly update the team on new food and beverage offerings, and encourage upselling initiatives.
• Lead daily briefings to ensure smooth shifts and clear communication among team members.
• Assist the Food & Beverage Manager in monitoring operational costs and identify opportunities to increase efficiency.

Guest Experience

• Ensure that all guests are welcomed warmly, served efficiently, and farewelled graciously.
• Maintain a high quality of service throughout all food and beverage operations, meeting and exceeding guest expectations.
• Take ownership of guest complaints, resolving them promptly or escalating to management when necessary.

Financial Returns

• Accurately record all food and beverage orders, monitor sales, and maintain up-to-date pricing across all menu channels.
• Monitor outlet expenses, including food costs and labour, and report any variances to the Food & Beverage Manager.
• Regularly update and share key information with the team about hotel offerings, specials, and promotions.

Qualifications & Skills

• Previous experience in a supervisory role in food and beverage, preferably in a hotel or upscale dining environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a genuine passion for providing excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) practices.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to drive sales and motivate the team to achieve targets and provide a top-tier experience for guests.
