As a Concierge you'll be responsible for welcoming and caring for our guests.  You will need to ensure that each of our guests are provided with an authentic Melbourne experience and that their stay is pleasant and memorable.  You will need to possess exceptional organisational skills and be a critical thinker.  Your primary duties will be to ensure that you provide the highest level of personal service to our guests, be an expert on Melbourne and to lead the concierge team.  

Reporting to the Chief Concierge, as a Concierge you will live the Next Hotel Melbourne's Core Values of Passion, Accountability, Integrity and Respect. As such you need to provide all hotel guests with an experience that exceeds their expectations and one that they will cherish till their NEXT visit!  

Position Requirements: 

• An exceptional level of knowledge on everything Melbourne and the ability to assist guests to experience the best that Melbourne has to offer
• Greeting arriving or departing guests and creating a sense of occasion  
• Supervise or assisting in the handling of guest luggage (some heavy) and delivering to guest rooms or storage
• Supervise or assist in the parking and retrieving of guest vehicles 
• Keep immaculate records of your work and that of your team 
• Know all hotel facilities & their hours of operation; be familiar with all hotel functions & city-wide events & activities. 
• Be and expert of Melbourne and its locations, restaurants & major attractions and be able to give suitable recommendations 
• Proactively solve or communicate any guest concerns to relevant colleagues to ensure absolute guest satisfaction is achieved. 
• Be familiar with all hotel emergencies and fire procedures as well as know key hotel personnel and their extensions 
• Assist the hotels grab & go café when required 

You will possess: 

• A full unrestricted Australian drivers license 
• The ability to curate memorable experiences for our guests whilst building sincere emotional connections  
• You will be fit, versatile and ready to assist where required in a fast-paced environment 
• Experience in a luxury or personalised service role preferred 
• Professional verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail 
• The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem solve effectively. 
• The flexibility to work on a 24-hour rotating roster including public holidays and weekends.
