About Sage Hotel Ringwood
Sage Hotel Ringwood is a modern, contemporary hotel featuring 120 stylish rooms across five floors, located directly above Eastland Shopping Centre. Guests enjoy the convenience of retail at their doorstep alongside Sage’s signature hospitality, including free Wi-Fi, co-working spaces, a gym, conferencing facilities, a restaurant and bar, in-room dining, and versatile event spaces catering from intimate meetings to conferences of up to 200 guests.
Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and driven Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team at Sage Hotel Ringwood. In this role, you will deliver high-quality food experiences while demonstrating strong leadership, teamwork, and professionalism in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Food & Beverage team to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across all food service operations, while upholding Sage Hotel Ringwood’s core values of Passion, Accountability, Integrity, and Respect.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver menu items to required standards of quality, presentation, portion control, and timeliness
- Prepare and maintain adequate mise en place to support smooth kitchen operations
- Minimise wastage through correct food handling, storage, and preparation techniques
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and hygiene across all kitchen areas and equipment
- Follow POS procedures to ensure accurate order processing
- Care for kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues promptly
- Demonstrate flexibility in meeting guest requests, including off-menu items where possible
- Contribute ideas and feedback during daily briefings and departmental meetings
- Support food displays, buffets, and innovative menu presentations
- Attend training, briefings, and team meetings as required
- Work collaboratively with the wider Food & Beverage and hotel teams

- Adhere to all workplace health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures
- Follow safe manual handling practices and food safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment at all times
- Identify and report hazards, incidents, or risks promptly
- Comply with all hotel policies relating to WHS, conduct, equal employment opportunity, and anti-discrimination
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or strong experience as a Demi Chef ready to step up
- Solid knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays
- Relevant trade qualifications and food safety certification (or willingness to obtain)
