Job Overview

Under the direction of the Head Chef and Senior Sous Chef, the Commis Chef assists with all food preparation and ensure the standards of quality for both Luke's Kitchen and the hotel outlets are met to the highest standards. They will develop their skills with the guidance of experienced professionals in both the kitchen and the business. You will be working in a variety of outlets ranging from our cocktail bars to our restaurant and ensure that the kitchen provides ridiculously personalised and fresh, appealing, nutritious foods to appeal to every of our guests.

 

Duties and Responsiblities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for various dishes.
  • Measure, cut, and portion ingredients according to established recipes.
  • Maintain high standards of ingredient quality and freshness.
  • Cook and assemble dishes according to established guidelines and under the supervision of head chef.
  • Pay close attention to detail to ensure the visual appeal of each dish.
  • Contribute to the creation of visually appealing plates that meet Kimpton standards of spirit, style and delight.
  • Adhere to strict food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a hygienic and organized kitchen.
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment

Qualifications:

  • Previous culinary experience in a commercial kitchen is recommended.
  • Certificate in commercial cookery, you may be required to demonstrate your skill in a trial as part of the hiring process.
