About the role

We are on the hunt for an enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our pre-opening team and contribute to the launch of our brand-new restaurant, Mozzarella and Co. Working under the Executive Chef, this role offers the exciting opportunity to make your mark on our new concept.  You will support the Executive Chef and kitchen team with food preparation, presentation, and kitchen cleanliness while ensuring food safety and brand standards are always maintained.

 

Key responsibilities

•             Assist with basic food preparation and presentation in line with menu standards

•             Support buffet setup and replenishment during service periods

•             Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils

•             Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating stock

•             Help reduce wastage through proper stock handling and storage

•             Ensure food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards are followed at all times

•             Support kitchen operations during peak service periods

•             Complete cleaning schedules and kitchen documentation as required

•             Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service

 

Qualifications & experience

•             One year kitchen or hospitality experience required (entry-level welcome)

•             Passion for food and willingness to learn

•             Strong teamwork and communication skills

•             Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

•             Flexible availability including weekends and public holidays

•             Good attention to detail and cleanliness standards
