Country Comfort Perth is seeking a Demi Chef for The Firehouse Restaurant, to deliver an exceptional guest experience and provide our guests with exceptional, creative, locally sourced and seasonal delights.
Position Requirements:
- Be a driver in all aspects of food preparation and follow our ethos of minimal food wastage.
- Preparation of mise-en-place and other tasks set out by the Executive Chef to facilitate consistent food production and service.
- Minimise wastage through the correct use of tools and techniques including storage of prepared food.
- Ensure a positive relationship is maintained between back of house and front of house.
- Display a high degree of flexibility in acceding to “off the menu” guest requests. Offering comparable alternatives where guest’s original request cannot be delivered to their expectation.
- Demonstrate innovation through the presentation of food displays for buffets and presentations.
- Keeping abreast with changes and developments introduced by the kitchen leadership team in the selection, production and presentation of the menu.
- Manage HACCP and ensure the highest hygiene standards are maintained at all times.
- Work to accomplish scheduled tasks and responsibilities in the allotted time so that the Food & Beverage operation can function smoothly.
- Share suggestions / observations at daily briefings and departmental meetings on opportunities to control costs without a negative impact on the guest experience.
- Always maintain designated areas and equipment in clean orderly condition, reporting any malfunctions / breakages / repairs to the concerned department and supervisor.
- Remain calm, confident, and have a hands-on approach especially during busy periods.
You will possess:
- The ability to curate memorable experiences for our guests through the quality of your food.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a chef in a busy restaurant or hotel.
- Professional verbal communication skills and strong eye for detail.
- Impeccable hygiene, grooming and presentation.
- Strong work ethic and flexibility to work 20-30 per week, mainly 3pm to close and over 7 days a week, including some public holidays.
- Superior organisational, time management and follow through skills.
