Position Summary

We are seeking a independent and proactive Duty Manager. If you are a smart, considerate problem solver who thrives on delivering exceptional customer experiences, this role is for you. Working closely with the Hotel Manager, you will lead our team to success, ensuring compliance with brand standards and regulatory requirements while maintaining high levels of guest and staff satisfaction.

This role will also include shifts at The Sebel Canberra Campbell, providing variety and exposure across two of The Sebel Canberra’s properties.

Responsibilities

  • Embody and promote The Sebel brand as a stellar ambassador.
  • Organize and plan daily activities, ensuring tasks are delegated effectively to meet operational goals.
  • Lead and participate in hotel emergency procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and local government requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, demonstrating clarity and adaptability.
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to identify and implement solutions, contributing to our ongoing success.

 

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
  • Ready to step up from a Guest Service Agent (GSA) or Supervisor role to a Duty Manager position.
  • Professional demeanor with a proactive "can-do" attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound judgments under pressure and take on significant responsibilities.
  • Ability to make calm, collected decisions in time-sensitive situations.
  • Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must possess or obtain a First Aid certificate, CPR certificate, and ACT Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate.
  • Legal right to work in Australia.
