Hotel Duty Manager – Kimpton Margot Hotel Sydney
Be the face of a hotel where luxury is anything but ordinary.
We’re looking for an exceptional hospitality professional to join the Front Office leadership team of our 172-room luxury lifestyle hotel in Sydney.
Here, luxury isn’t about scripts, formality or simply following standards. It’s about knowing our guests, anticipating what they need and creating experiences that feel Ridiculously Personal.
No two days are the same, and that’s exactly how we like it.
Why You’ll Love It Here
We believe heartfelt human connections make people’s lives better.
Our people are encouraged to bring their personality to work, think creatively and have the confidence to turn everyday interactions into memorable experiences.
We’re polished, but never stiff.
Professional, but never scripted.
Luxury, but always human.
Whether it’s remembering a returning guest’s favourite drink, recognising a special occasion, solving a problem before it becomes one, or simply knowing when a guest needs a genuine conversation - the little details matter here.
What You’ll Do
Working closely with the Front Office Manager, you’ll help lead our Front Office and Guest Services team while being a highly visible presence throughout the hotel.
You’ll:
- Lead, motivate and inspire the Front Office and Guest Services team.
- Be a genuine ambassador for the hotel and its culture.
- Create and encourage Ridiculously Personal guest experiences.
- Build meaningful relationships with guests and recognise returning guests and their preferences.
- Empower the team to think beyond the expected and anticipate guest needs.
- Ensure arrivals, stays and departures are seamless, polished and memorable.
- Handle guest concerns with confidence, empathy and creativity.
- Coach and develop team members while celebrating individuality and great performance.
- Work closely with other departments to create a seamless guest journey.
- Take ownership of the operation and confidently make decisions when required.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re not simply looking for someone who knows how to run a Front Office.
We’re looking for a natural host and genuine people person.
Someone who walks into a lobby and notices things.
Someone who remembers names.
Someone who listens to the little details guests share.
Someone who isn't afraid to show personality.
And someone who understands that sometimes the smallest gesture can become the most memorable part of a guest's stay.
You’ll Bring
- Previous Front Office or Guest Services leadership experience within a luxury, boutique or lifestyle hotel environment.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Natural warmth, confidence and emotional intelligence.
- Exceptional attention to detail and an ability to anticipate guest needs.
- Creativity and the confidence to think outside traditional hotel service.
- A hands-on leadership style - you’re happiest being part of the action.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
- Current First Aid certification as required for the role.
- A valid NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) competency/card.
- Full legal working rights in Australia.
The Traits That Will Make You Shine
Genuine. Curious. Observant. Creative. Confident. Warm. Empowered. Adaptable. Detail-obsessed.
Most importantly, you’ll have an instinctive desire to make people feel seen, recognised and genuinely cared for.
Because systems can be taught. Procedures can be learned.
But the instinct to notice someone, connect with them and create a moment they’ll remember?
That’s what we’re looking for.
If you believe luxury should feel personal rather than predictable, and you’re ready to help create experiences guests will talk about long after they leave, we’d love to hear from you.
