We are looking for a motivated and reliable Handy Person to join our team. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for delivering efficient day-to-day repairs and maintenance across the hotel, ensuring everything operates seamlessly in line with IHG brand standards and safety regulations.

This is a hands-on and varied role, ranging from preventative maintenance to responding to guest requests — no two days are ever the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including painting, patching, basic bathroom fixes, lighting, door repairs, and furniture upkeep.
• Respond quickly to guest maintenance requests to support a positive stay experience.
• Assist with the completion of the Preventative Maintenance Management (PMM) schedule.
• Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and plant/equipment areas.
• Coordinate and oversee external contractors when required.
• Maintain accurate repair logs, daily reports, and compliance with audit requirements.
• Promote safety and environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with IHG brand standards and OH&S regulations.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to deliver seamless service.

About You

• Experience in a maintenance, handyman, or trade-related role (hospitality background an advantage).
• Strong problem-solving and practical repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills with a guest-first mindset.
• Organised, reliable, and proactive with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible to assist across a variety of tasks and shifts.
