In 2022 Vista Hospitality Group opened two new hotels in Brisbane CBD. The first to open was voco™ Brisbane City Centre which offers 194 guest rooms, 11 meetings rooms, 2 F&B outlets, a Fitness Centre & Rooftop Pool. Soon to follow was the Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre with 212-rooms and the incredible new Izakaya Publico Restaurant and Bar 1603. 

The new hotels are managed and operated by Vista Hospitality Group a new business within the Australasian hospitality sector, that offers a suite of resources and operational advantages, uniquely tailored for owners and partners.

We’re looking for a service & guest experience focused Kitchen Steward who is efficient and takes pride in their important ‘heart-of-house role’. We’re after self-confessed perfectionists who thrive in a varied & dynamic role. Position Summary:

  • Love & live the brand and be a great ambassador of the voco hotels.
  • You’ve got a good eye for detail – our processes are super important in helping us deliver a consistent guest experience.
  • You’ll assist with the set up and pack down of our buffet breakfast. 
  • Health and Safety is a priority for us, so you will be versed in the current Food Safety and Hygiene policy.
  • You’ll handle all glassware, silverware, crockery, pots, pans and buffet display ware with care and clean & store in a neat and tidy manner.
  • Assist the Chef brigade with basic food preparation (as required).
  • You’ll assist fellow team members and carry out any other related duties as directed by Hotel Management.
  • You’ll respond quickly and attentively to guest requests and needs, ensuring that our guests have a great experience every time.

You will possess:

  • Ideally, you will have previous kitchen / steward experience in a dynamic and high-volume environment.
  • Short-order cook experience will be highly regarded.
  • Professional and personable, with a positive “role up the sleeves”, can-do attitude.
  • You make calm, collected decisions – even when the clock is ticking.
  • You will be physically fit as there will be repetitive lifting, bending, walking, standing for prolonged periods.
  • Pride in personal appearance & grooming.
  • You must meet the appropriate legal requirements to work in Australia.

Our Guests are different, our offer is different, but our guests are still at the centre of all we do, and the way we present our professional lives in an authentic, values-based approach. We’re looking for Kitchen and Stores Assistants, who are efficient and take pride in their work. We’re after self-confessed perfectionists that love structure and order. In this role communication is key – you’ll be a brilliant communicator with the drive and passion to drive an excellent Food and Beverage offering! This is a rostered position working mornings, evenings, and weekends. $25 - $26 per hours, minimum 30 hours per week.
