We are looking for a reliable and hands-on Kitchen Steward to join our Kitchen team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety across all kitchen and food & beverage areas, supporting the culinary team to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all kitchen areas, dishwashing stations, and food & beverage outlets
  • Operate and maintain dishwashing machines, ensuring correct temperature and cleaning standards
  • Support chefs with basic food preparation and general kitchen duties as required
  • Ensure all food handling, sanitation, HACCP, RSA, and WH&S standards are strictly followed
  • Complete cleaning schedules and documentation accurately and on time
  • Receive, store, and rotate stock appropriately, reporting any discrepancies or damages
  • Assist in reducing waste, breakages, and promoting recycling initiatives
  • Ensure continuous supply of clean utensils and equipment for service areas
  • Maintain cleanliness of staff dining areas, storage rooms, and waste areas
  • Support breakfast buffet setup, replenishment, and pack-down to brand standards
  • Follow safe chemical handling procedures and use PPE at all times
  • Report hazards, maintenance issues, or safety concerns promptly
  • Participate in daily briefings, training, and shift handovers
  • Work collaboratively with Kitchen, Food & Beverage, and wider hotel teams
  • Assist in emergency procedures when required

About You

  • Previous experience in a kitchen stewarding or hospitality role is preferred
  • Strong team player with a positive, “can do” attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills and willingness to follow instructions
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene
  • Reliable, punctual, and well-presented at all times
  • Basic understanding of food safety and WH&S standards is an advantage
  • Must have the right to work in New Zealand
