We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, service-centric Handy Person to join our Maintenance team. Reporting to the Hotel Maintenance Manager, you will live Sage Hotel Wollongong’s Core Values of Passion, Accountability, Integrity and Respect, whilst being responsible for the all-round maintenance of the hotel.

About the Role

Our maintenance officers are involved in all-round maintenance of Engineering and Building Maintenance; including monitoring, maintaining and repairing various aspects of the Front and Back of-House Facilities.  

Position Requirements:

• The ability to do all round maintenance works such as path work, painting and basic carpentry. 
• Ensure all room conditions are maintained to a high standard 
• Carry out all tasks as guided by the Hotel Management
• Ensure all tasks are performed promptly & safely
• Assist in performing regular plant, equipment and water quality checks and complete logs accurately. 
• Assist in managing 3rd party contractors including quotes, purchase orders and works completed.
• Maintain adequate stock levels of supplies and equipment and order as required.
• Personally ensure compliance with all relevant Workplace Health & Safety and Occupational Health & Safety legislation, and related hotel Policies.
• Anticipate guest’s needs through observation and offer prompt, efficient service.

 You will possess:

• Flexibility to work from Monday to Sunday with staggered starts to allow for peak period coverage.
• Solid all round maintenance experience in a top end hotel or residential style buildings. 
• Strong painting skills seen as advantageous
• The ability to prioritize work schedules and have excellent communication skills and attention to detail. 
• You will be fit, versatile and ready to assist where required in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to multi-task, work under pressure and problem solve effectively
