Stretching over the entire 3rd floor, La Madonna Restaurant showcases a modern take on Coastal Italian cuisine, with a few sneaky Asian influences. It is adorned with warm hues and opulent large dining tables. Our Bar inspires comparisons to New York and London and houses our own, barrel ageing program, ageing everything from Negroni’s to house amaro, to soy, to whatever else we might like to experiment with.
The hotel and its food and beverage program have a strong passion for, and commitment to sustainability. We recycle, upcycle, and have all but abolished our kitchen waste. As well as devoting our wine offering primarily to producers who are similarly committed to sustainability.
As the Assistant Venues Manager you will be report to the Venues Manager and assist with running Lamadonna Restaurant, Bar, Café and In room dining service that operate 7 days a week. As such, we are looking for someone who has a high energy , positive approach and most importantly works hands on with their team to achieve exceptional results.
Your duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Have an absolute passion for ALL things Food & Beverage
- Maximize revenue through demonstrating and teaching the art of upselling, whilst maintaining high service standards
- Assist in overseeing daily operations and shifts, meet food & beverage costs, set wage budgets and rostering.
- Create a team that works together with trust and takes responsibility to meet the goals of the department / Hotel.
- Review and take on board customer feedback and find new ways to delight our guests
- Ensure the team understand the food offerings and exceed customer expectations at all times
- Handle difficult situations with poise and self-assurance; demonstrate emotional intelligence and humility
- Remain calm, confident, and have a hands-on approach especially during busy periods
- Provide regular feedback, coaching, support and guidance to the team in order to create a positive environment and achieve ‘excellence’ and ‘engagement’ within the team
- Have some knowledge and understanding of the P&L, inventory, costs, expenses and all cash handling procedures
- Implement quality control procedures and ensure the department is compliant
- Assist with rostering and managing the payroll and productivity.
- Assist with effective recruitment, training, targeted development, reward & recognition programs to ensure positive retention and growth.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to achieve common goals and objectives
You will possess:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the hospitality sector coupled with at least 1 year in a senior people leadership role
- Experience in running a multiple outlets in a hotel seen as advantageous
- Ability to be flexible and available on the floor during peak periods of service
- Hold strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and develop team
- Highly effective communication, networking and business partnering skills
- Superior organizational, time management and follow through skills
- Ability to curate memorable experiences for our guests.
