Position Overview:
We are looking for a talented Barista to join the Kimpton Margot Sydney team! In this role, you will oversee and manage all aspects of coffee service across various outlets, especially the Pantry by Margot café. You’ll be working closely with our Director of Restaurants & Bars and our renowned Culinary Director, Luke Mangan, to create a top-tier coffee experience.
Your role will involve delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring quality and consistency, and working collaboratively with both the kitchen team and our Restaurant & Bar attendants. You’ll also play a vital part in the evolution of our café and contribute to shaping the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all coffee operations in the hotel’s outlets.
- Ensure quality service and a unique guest experience through IHG’s branded service standards.
- Manage stock, monitor waste reduction, and ensure efficient daily operations.
- Support the Restaurant & Bar Duty Manager in controlling departmental costs, inventory, and financial transactions.
- Assist in rostering and training of the team to maintain a high standard of service and team development.
- Create and maintain positive relationships with guests, addressing their needs, and delivering memorable experiences.
- Ensure staff are prepared and ready to provide exceptional service, including proper uniforms and equipment.
- Adhere to responsible service of alcohol (RSA) standards and other relevant regulations.
- Promote teamwork and foster a positive work environment within the hotel team.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous experience as a barista or in a similar customer service role.
- Passion for delivering exceptional service and high-quality coffee.
- Ability to lead a team and maintain a positive, high-energy environment.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate.
- Ability to meet the legal requirements to work in Australia.
