About the role
This is an opportunity to be part of something from the ground up. As a key member of the pre-opening team, you will play an integral role in launching voco Queenstown and establishing its presence in market. Working closely with the General Manager and Director of Sales NZ, you will drive revenue across accommodation, restaurants and bars, and events, focusing on wholesale, leisure, and corporate segments. You will build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships, identify new opportunities, and position the hotel as a leading destination in Queenstown.
We are looking for someone with a special skill set who is commercially driven and creatively minded, with a natural ability to build relationships and think strategically. You will bring strong communication and organisational skills, along with the ability to create engaging content that showcases the hotel. From securing new business to enhancing brand presence, you will play a key role in delivering both commercial success and exceptional guest experiences.
This is a permanent full-time position with a minimum guarantee of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
· Drive revenue across accommodation, meetings, and food & beverage through proactive business development and account management.
· Grow wholesale, leisure, and corporate/event segments by identifying opportunities and converting new business.
· Build and manage strong client relationships, owning the sales journey from enquiry through to delivery and repeat business.
· Represent the hotel through site inspections, client events, and industry networking opportunities.
· Collaborate with revenue, marketing, and operations teams to align strategy and deliver seamless guest experiences.
· Maintain accurate CRM reporting, monitor market trends, and create engaging content to promote the hotel and its offerings.
Qualifications & Experience
· Minimum 1 year’s previous hotel or hospitality sales experience.
· Strong commercial acumen with the ability to build, negotiate, and convert business opportunities.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
· Experience using CRM systems and managing a sales pipeline.
