In 2022, voco™ Brisbane City Centre opened with 194 guest rooms, 12 meeting rooms, 2 F&B outlets, a fitness centre, and rooftop pool. Soon after, Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre opened with 212 rooms and the stunning Izakaya Publico Restaurant & Bar 1603. Both hotels are committed to providing exceptional guest experiences, world-class events, and innovative hospitality services.

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Conference & Events Sales Manager to drive MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) revenue across both properties. This role focuses on converting inbound enquiries, maximising revenue opportunities, and delivering a seamless client experience from initial enquiry to operational handover.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage all Conference & Events enquiries, from proposal to negotiation and contracting.
  • Drive conversion of inbound leads and identify upsell opportunities across accommodation, meeting space, and catering.
  • Act as the primary contact for clients, ensuring exceptional event solutions and optimised space utilisation.
  • Collaborate closely with Banquet Operations, Kitchen teams, and internal departments to ensure flawless event delivery.
  • Support the Director of Sales with forecasting, revenue strategy, and performance reporting.
  • Maintain accurate records in Delphi and IHG systems (Leadshare, IHG Way of Sales) and oversee deposits, billing, and reconciliations.
  • Deliver a professional client experience, building strong relationships to encourage repeat and referral business.
  • Mentor and develop the sales and events team, ensuring alignment with brand standards, operational excellence, and workplace health and safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience in conference, events, or MICE sales within a hotel environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with a results-driven mindset and excellent negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional client relationship and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments and manage competing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Delphi, IHG systems, and Microsoft Office; experience with revenue reporting a plus.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
