About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join our pre-opening team and contribute to our growth and success. Working closely with General Manager / Hotel Manager, Food & Beverage Manager leads the F&B operations from dawn to dusk at voco Queenstown. This role plays a pivotal part in maximising revenue, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and developing a motivated, high-performing team. The role includes overseeing restaurants, bars, events, and catering operations, with a focus on operational excellence, quality, and innovation.
Key responsibilities
· Full-time position with a minimum of 40hr guaranteed per week
· Lead and manage all food and beverage operations, ensuring exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction.
· Develop promotions, events, and marketing initiatives to increase revenue and build the hotel’s culinary profile.
· Collaborate with the Executive Chef, Event Coordinators, and operational teams to ensure seamless execution of all functions and events.
· Monitor and manage budgets, pricing, and operational KPIs to drive profitability without compromising service quality.
· Ensure compliance with all food safety, workplace health and safety, and brand standards.
· Mentor, develop, and inspire the F&B team, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, integrity, and passion.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of competitor offerings and market trends to keep voco Queenstown at the forefront of the local hospitality scene.
Qualifications & experience
· Minimum 3 years of experience of hospitality management within a hotel or hospitality environment.
· Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams to achieve operational and service excellence.
· In depth knowledge of F&B operations, including restaurants, bars, events, catering, budgeting, and revenue management.
· Superior beverage product knowledge including wines, cocktails and beers.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with guests, team members, and stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments, including kitchen, events, and sales.
· Flexible and adaptable work approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
· Experience in planning and executing promotional activities, events, and marketing initiatives to drive revenue and enhance guest experience.
· Understanding of workplace health & safety, food safety standards, and brand compliance requirements.
