Job Overview:
Under the guidance of the Executive Chef or designate, you will support the food and beverage operation by preparing and presenting high-quality food, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring all health, safety, and brand standards are met.
As a Cook, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and energising food experience for our guests, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance with all food safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience:

Prepare and present food in line with hotel menu cards and brand standards.

Ensure buffet and food displays are maintained throughout service with adequate levels and quality control.

Provide courteous, professional, and efficient service at all times.
-
Be knowledgeable about seasonal menus and daily specials.
-
Maintain a strong focus on loyalty members and VIP guests.
-
Follow the Food Safety Plan, ensuring all cleaning schedules and documentation are completed accurately.
Financial Returns:
-
Monitor and control stock levels to reduce wastage.
-
Assist with checking and receiving deliveries, recording any discrepancies or damaged goods.
-
Store goods correctly in allocated areas.
-
Reduce breakages and wastage by following departmental SOPs.
-
Support recycling initiatives and waste reduction practices.
Operational Duties:
-
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen equipment and surfaces.
-
Ensure kitchen preparation is completed prior to service.
-
Store food correctly after service in accordance with food handling legislation.

Work safely and identify potential hazards, reporting issues to supervisors.
-
Maintain equipment and uniform in good order.
-
Follow all health, safety, fire, and emergency procedures, including correct use of PPE.

Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations, as well as brand standards and policies.
Team Collaboration:

Develop strong working relationships with the kitchen and wider hotel team.

Attend daily briefings, meetings, and training sessions as required.

Communicate service challenges, guest feedback, or operational concerns promptly to supervisors.

Be flexible and adaptable to business needs and rotating rosters.

Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by the Executive Chef or designate.
Required Qualifications & Skills:

Friendly and professional persona with neat personal presentation.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

High energy and passion for delivering quality results.

Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of food safety practices and kitchen operations.

Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry loads over 15kg, push and pull trolleys, and perform repetitive movements as required in a commercial kitchen environment.
