In 2022 Vista Hospitality Group opened two new hotels in Brisbane CBD. The first to open was voco™ Brisbane City Centre which offers 194 guest rooms, 11 meetings rooms, 2 F&B outlets, a Fitness Centre & Rooftop Pool. Soon to follow was the Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre with 212-rooms and the incredible new Izakaya Publico Restaurant and Bar 1603.

We’re looking for a service & guest experience focused Kitchen Steward who is efficient and takes pride in their important ‘heart-of-house role’. We’re after self-confessed perfectionists who thrive in a varied & dynamic role. Position Summary:

• Love & live the brand and be a great ambassador of the voco hotels.
• You’ve got a good eye for detail – our processes are super important in helping us deliver a consistent guest experience.
• You’ll assist with the set up and pack down of our buffet breakfast. 
• Health and Safety is a priority for us, so you will be versed in the current Food Safety and Hygiene policy.
• You’ll handle all glassware, silverware, crockery, pots, pans and buffet display ware with care and clean & store in a neat and tidy manner.
• Assist the Chef brigade with basic food preparation (as required).
• You’ll assist fellow team members and carry out any other related duties as directed by Hotel Management.
• You’ll respond quickly and attentively to guest requests and needs, ensuring that our guests have a great experience every time.

You will possess:

• Ideally, you will have previous kitchen / steward experience in a dynamic and high-volume environment.
• Short-order cook experience will be highly regarded.
• Professional and personable, with a positive “role up the sleeves”, can-do attitude.
• You make calm, collected decisions – even when the clock is ticking.
• You will be physically fit as there will be repetitive lifting, bending, walking, standing for prolonged periods.
• Pride in personal appearance & grooming.
• You must meet the appropriate legal requirements to work in Australia.
