Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kitchen Hand to join our culinary team at Sage Hotel Wollongong. As a Kitchen Hand, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our kitchen operates smoothly while providing exceptional service and contributing to the overall guest experience. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and professional environment, where your passion and leadership skills can shine.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to Brand and Service Standards: Follow Vista Hospitality Group (VHG) standards and represent Sage Hotels with pride.

  • Guest Satisfaction: Address and resolve problems and complaints with professionalism. Act as a Brand Ambassador for Sage Hotels and VHG.

  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all VHG Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your colleagues and management, offering flexibility based on the needs of the kitchen.

  • Kitchen Maintenance: Care for all kitchen equipment, minimize breakages, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.

  • Food Prep Support: Assist with assembling and preparing ingredients, measuring dish ingredients, and setting up workstations.

  • Cleanliness & Orderliness: Ensure a sanitized kitchen environment, manage pantry duties, and store food and other items correctly.

  • Minimize Wastage: Follow proper storage and preparation techniques to reduce food waste.

  • Communication & Reporting: Report maintenance issues promptly and share feedback during departmental meetings.

Requirements:

  • Previous kitchen hand or food preparation experience is preferred but not essential.

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
