Position Overview

As a Night Auditor, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth overnight operations of the hotel. You will deliver exceptional guest experiences while maintaining accurate financial reporting, managing front office operations, and supporting security and safety procedures.

You will also provide leadership support to the Front Office team during night operations and ensure all guest service standards are consistently met.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver prompt, efficient, and courteous service to all guests in line with brand standards.
  • Oversee night front office operations, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes.
  • Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  • Ensure accurate room allocations based on guest preferences and profiles.
  • Conduct daily night audit procedures and ensure accurate completion of reports.
  • Verify guest billing, payment methods, routing instructions, and PMS records.
  • Monitor and maintain accuracy of all financial transactions and postings.
  • Support upselling initiatives and ensure correct application of room rates and packages.
  • Conduct handover reports and communicate key operational updates to day teams.
  • Complete daily night audit functions and ensure all revenue is accurately balanced.
  • Review and reconcile financial transactions, postings, and reports.
  • Monitor variances in revenue and expenses and report discrepancies.
  • Track mini bar charges, late charges, and other incidental guest charges.
  • Ensure compliance with cash handling and financial procedures.
  • Conduct periodic stock checks of supplies and identify discrepancies.
  • Conduct shift briefings and ensure effective handover communication.
  • Support and guide Guest Services team during overnight operations.
  • Escalate unresolved guest or operational issues to relevant department heads.
  • Maintain clear communication across departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain strict adherence to hotel security procedures including key control, cash handling, and guest confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS, fire safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a Night Auditor or Front Office role in a hotel environment
  • Strong knowledge of front office systems (PMS experience preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong guest service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently overnight and manage priorities
  • Understanding of financial reporting and audit processes
  • Valid working rights in Australia/New Zealand (as applicable).

Position Overview: The Hotel Financial Controller (FC) is accountable for managing the daily financial and accounting operations for a portfolio of hotels across Australia and/or New Zealand. There are a total of 23 hotels (and growing), ranging from limited and mid-scale to luxury and lifestyle sectors. Depending on the complexity, an FC typically manages 3 to 8 hotels. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency, requiring a strong technology mindset and a focus on automating recurring tasks to streamline processes. The FC reports directly to the Vice President Hotel Finance and collaborates closely with the Accounts Payable (AP) Manager and the Accounts Receivable (AR) Manager to ensure seamless collections and payments for the designated hotels. Additionally, the FC works with the Offshore Delivery Team to ensure the accurate recording of daily transactional activities, such as revenue journals and bank reconciliations. The FC is focused on both the commercial side of the business as well as compliance and reporting.
